The mission of attune

The average gen z person spends 6.5 hours/day staring at their phone. Over their life, that will be 30 years of 12 hour days.

The question we ask is, does anyone actually want that? And since the answer is obviously no, the unavoidable follow up is: wtf are we doing then?

That is because our era's equivalent of the manhattan project, what we oriented the large majority of the smartest people's intellectual muscle towards for the last 20 years, was building extremely sophisticated systems to keep you staring at a screen for as long as possible.

That's super lame. Money isn't everything. We should try at least that hard to build things that shape the world to be how we actually want it to be.

So we're building an app that applies everything we've learned working in that world and mining social sciences for academic arbitrage to get you addicted to what you want to do in your real life, not wasting your only life scrolling on feeds of content you don't even like.

Engagement loops optimized around helping you do what you actually want to do. SDT/narrative scaffolding/guided journaling for helping you track what that is.

It's called attune, or maybe odyssey. Idk honestly, we've built prototypes we think are compelling, but are still working on the vibe.

Regardless, we think it's cool, and we hope it will make your life at least a little bit better.
